It hadn't taken long for news to reach Twitch. In the the moment that she had heard about the explosion that took pretty much half Megatron's body -- and it's source, she was flipped into drone mode and careening through the halls.
When she eventually did find Anemone, her friend, she dropped back into root mode, but remained hovering so she could poke Anemone hard with an accusatory finger.
Anemone was prepared for a lot of the fallout, but, for some reason, she never anticipated that Twitch, of all people, would get so up in her business. Anemone, who was on a bit of a hair-trigger nowadays, squares her shoulders and slaps Twitch's hand away.
"He was asking for it!" She yells back, her yellow eyes flashing with anger. "Just because you're stupid enough to not see him for what he is, doesn't mean I am! He deserves it!"
Twitch's hand curl into fists and her bright orange optics are flashing with anger.
"He's my family! He's worked so hard to be good and you blow him up! He's been nothing but kind and loving and cool!
And I'm not stupid! You're stupid! You're supposed to be my friend! Who just blows up people for no reason?! What kind of friend tries to kill her friends family?!"
She lets out a sound of frustration, stomping in the air. "You were so cool! But it's like you don't care at all!"
"Of course I care! If anything, I care too much!" Anemone yells back, her hand instinctively reaching into her green bag to grasp at anything that happens to be in there, her eyes continue to flash and a wild, uncontrollable manic feeling is ping-ponging around her head.
A whisper in her head tells her that Twitch is weak-willed and soft. She'd never understand.
"How about you stop pretending that someone is good just because you like them? That's stupid and naive! No Megatron will ever be good! And a minor explosion is the least of what they deserve! This is what justice looks like, Twitch!" Anemone angrily pulls out the flak grenade from her bag.
"The only way to deal with evil is to destroy it."
She knew Anemone would yell, would be angry. But now she was holding one of her grenades in her hand and Twitch not only felt fear but betrayal.
Her optics widened and she zipped back several feet.
"You can't act like everyone is the same, Annie!" she said, despite her fear, she was still angry and this turn against her only riled her up more. The hurt was still there, but now it had an extra flavor.
But... Anemone wouldn't really do it, would she? She wouldn't hurt Twitch. They were friends.
"We're friends Annie... I don't get why you don't trust me." She inched a little closer. "I don't see how this makes you any better then the people you keep hurting."
"Don't you compare me to any of the Megatrons!" Anemone snarls, her temper flaring and rising higher and higher, a powerful buzzing in the back of her head pushing harder and harder into her mind, his voice telling her that Twitch won't understand no matter how hard she tries to explain herself. Someone who was good like Twitch wouldn't understand why Anemone was the way that she was.
"I've never hurt anyone who didn't deserve it!"
It isn't entirely clear what happens next, not even to Anemone. Perhaps she threw the grenade at Twitch out of pure reflex when Twitch made the mistake of trying to get closer, lighting Anemone's rage like kindling around a bomb. Maybe she dropped it by accident. Maybe He forced her to let it go.
What matters, in the end, is the result of the grenade dropping at Twitch's feet, and the explosion that comes just a second later while Anemone watches, feeling strangely hollow and apathetic, like her feelings have been stolen from her again. The blast hurts her too, but she barely feels it.
Fuck.
Is all she thinks at the very end, as the echo of the explosion fades and she sees her former friend on the ground.
There had been tension, they were both angry. But right up to the end, Twitch never imagined that Anemone would actually try to hurt her.
Then the bomb dropped, literally.
It hurt. There was a few seconds of a terrible terrible feeling, a few seconds of nothing and then Twitch found herself on the floor, disoriented and barely able to move. Everything felt out of place and she struggled to get her senses about her enough to even start to contemplate what went wrong.
She wasn't angry anymore. She was scared, she was hurt, she wanted her parents, her brothers and sisters.
"--mone..." she croaked, fighting through the white noise to remember her friend. Was she okay?

That was all she managed before things went dark.
