Not here, anyway. I have an AI one at home- his name's SHELLDON. Making one here's been on my list but I haven't finalized a design... I should have enough parts for one though.
But I'd love to collaborate on one! If you can wire a bomb, you can wire a drone- anyway, I'll be happy to show you how to build one.
[Anemone feels kind of shy about that, flattered by his confidence in her even though she feels kind of useless around any technology more advanced than a grenade.]
Um, I'll try. I feel like there's so much to learn about the technology most of the rest of the galaxy uses and it can be so overwhelming sometimes.
True, there's a lot and new things can always be overwhelming, but only if you let it be. It's a little easier if you find something specific to focus on.
Me, I've always loved technology and figuring it out. I've taken things apart as soon as I was able to manage it, learned from putting them back together.
Anyway, if there's any tech questions you have in general, you know who to ask!
Lucky for me too, because I'm kind of banned from the library, so I'll have to rely on you and any other way I can find information about whatever I'm curious about.
[She says with every appearance of accepting it gracefully. In reality, she's definitely going to sneak in the next time the small Megatron is off the ship.]
If you could find any books about Cybertronians explosives, than I'd really appreciated it.
[Maybe he should have called first. What if she's not even in? Well, that'd be embarrassing.
That worry's on the backburner as the purple turtle paces in front of Anemone's door, muttering to himself.]
Hey..! 'Nemz. Sooo, you've probably seen the posters around but I was wondering-
No that's dumb. Uh. -Anemone! Hey, if you're not busy or anything, there's a big winter ball coming up and I was wondering if you'd like to...go? -okay, okay, yeah. Wait, was I supposed to bring something for this? How does this work in real life...!?
[The door opens and Anemone floats out with a datapad in her face. Luckily she notices Donnie before she accidentally hits him with her tail or something.]
Oh, hey Donnie!
[She perks up at the sight of him.]
Do you need something? I was just going to go to the observation room to study for a bit if you wanted to join me.
[He pokes his fingers together, trying to grasp at the words he'd been formulating earlier but they're kind of everywhere like an upturned scrabble board. Well, at least the invitation will give him time to recover them. Hopefully.]
[Anemone feels the usual burst of fondness in her core that she usually feels when she sees Donnie, and she starts leading the way forward.]
Say, have you ever watched any of the Muppet's movies? Tailgate loaned me some and while I haven't watched many movies yet, they're definitely my favourite.
Muppets.... Huh, I don't think I have, actually. Our usual go-to for movies are either anything with Lou Jitsu or Jupiter Jim. I have them all digitally if you're ever curious- not sure if you're into martial arts movies or sci-fi classics though.
Leo and I watched a couple of them together when I first came on board and they're so much fun! I really wanted to see them because Leo mentioned that your dad was in them, and I thought that was really cool.
I've never heard of Jupiter Jim though, what are those about?
O-oh, you did? Well that saves an explanation. [Donnie supposes he can't get mad at Leo for that, it's not like they have many opportunities to tell people that their dad is amazing martial artist and film star!]
Everything we know about fighting, we learned from him and his movies.
Jupiter Jim though, that's the franchise that got us into space and just the thought of someday adventuring out in the galaxy. Jupiter Jim's primary directive is for peace, so he basically goes around fighting evil aliens and saving the day.
[Now Anemone feels just a little bit guilty about not inviting anyone else to watch with them, though at the time Anemone just wanted to spend time with Leo specifically because she thought he was the coolest. And, y'know.]
We should definitely watch them together. Oh, and the Muppets too.
I wonder if anyone has any horror movies. I've never seen one, but they sound like sooo much fun. Imagine being scared on purpose!
[They've reached the Observation Room by now and Anemone floats inside and up to the big window showing the cosmos. There's nobody in here right now, so they've got a little privacy.]
I'll definitely ask her about it.
[She muses, looking over at a nearby gas giant that frames her purple plating with a gentle orange.]
The Universe is beautiful, I'll never get tired of this view. There's so much to know about it though, and I always feel like I know too little.
[Donnie steps over to the windw, so immense that he could believe there's nothing between him and space beyond. It's frightening and beautiful, and he's come here a lot whenever he just needed to try and not think of anything else, or at least in his case, get his mind off of certain things by finding other things to think about.]
I know, right? It's pretty overwhelming to realize that there's so much I don't know out there. But at the same time... it's exciting because there's so much out there. And it's all new to us, even if it's been there forever.
I like that there's always a lot to learn. It'd be pretty boring if you knew everything, right?
[Anemone considers this as she lowers herself elegantly to the ground, sitting with her tail to the side. From here, she and Donnie are at eye-level, a position she enjoys being in.]
Yeah. I like that. It's better than feeling overwhelmed and frustrated about all the things you don't know. Still, the feeling that I'm missing out on something because of something I don't know really gets to me sometimes. Maybe it'll go away the more I learn about things in general.
By the way, did you need to speak to me about something? Unless you just wanted to hang out.
No, I get that. It was like that for me when my brothers were using magic and I couldn't wrap my head around it. It's still strange knowing access to it now, and not knowing what all I can do with it.
[He looks at his hands before shaking his head and those thoughts away as Anemone brings up his initial reason for coming by her room.]
Ah- well, hanging out is a bonus. [Donnie grins shyly, scratching the back of his head then as he looks between the starry space outside the window and Anemone.]
I um. Well, I wanted to ask if you'd like to go to the Hope and Harmony Ball that's being hosted on Aureole Memoria.
I guess the event's kind of an annual thing, and the first one I went to was really neat but... I thought it'd be nice to actually have someone to go with this time, and there isn't anyone else I'd rather ask.
[It takes Anemone a moment to process that she's been asked to a ball, and when it finally clicks she covers her face with her datapad in flustered delight as she struggles to make words come out good.]
Um! You're asking me? I-I mean, of course you are!
[She lowers her datapad, her golden eyes and lavender core glowing brighter to show her joy.]
I'd love to!
I was thinking of asking you actually... but you beat me to it. I'm glad, because you're the only person I'd really want to go with.
